Are The 2009 Rams Worse Than The 2008 Detroit Lions?

Without a doubt the Rams are the worst team in football this season. They are worse than the Bucs, they are worse than the Bills. They are truly terrible. But how terrible are they? Could they beat the Detroit Lions from last season. Frankly, I’m not so sure that they could. The Lions played a lot of close games last season, while the Rams aren’t even close to beating anyone. What’s the point of having a great running back when nobody will block for him? And really, a good running back is all we’ve got. Kyle Boller is a gifted athlete but a joke of a quarterback. I’ve reached the point where I wouldn’t be surprised to open up the sports section on Monday morning and read a line like this: K. Boller – 1/17, 3 yards, 3 INT. I wonder if he closes his eyes when he drops back in the pocket. We all know the Lions’ Dan Orlovsky from last season did close his eyes when dropping back, which is why he occasionally ran off the field without realizing it, but he also put the Lions in a position to win week after week, only to see his defense give everything up in a devastating fashion.

Here’s my prediction:
2008 Lions 12, 2009 Rams 6. The Rams score their points on an Orlovsky fumble returned for a touchdown, then miss the extra point. The Lions take advantage of Boller interceptions to get the field position needed to kick 4 field goals. Total number of first downs in the game: 5. Total number of punts: 17.
