Mets Reject Roy Halladay

The Mets have received a trade offer from the Toronto Blue Jays for Roy Halladay, but the Mets rejected the offer. The players the Jays wanted were Fernando Martinez, Bobby Parnell, Jonathan Niese, and Ruben Tejada. Those 4 are recognized as the top 4 prospects in the Mets system. As much as I’d want Halladay, we can’t mortgage the future for him. We’re not one player away from being contenders this season, and Halladay can only pitch once every 5 days. Rejecting this offer makes sense, no matter how much the talking heads on sports radio are going to yak about it.
