Jets Trade For Braylon Edwards, Headaches

Wednesday 7 October 2009 @ 1:33 pm

The Jets have traded Chansi Stuckey, Jason Trusnik, and a pair of draft picks in exchange for troubled Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards. Edwards will provide Mark Sanchez with a legitimate deep threat, but he also brings a lot of baggage with him. He’s being investigated by the league following accusations that he assaulted a friend of Lebron James outside a Cleveland nightclub on Monday night. He’s also been in trouble with the law and the league several times before.

Edwards has caught only 10 passes on the season for less than 150 yards for the Browns, who have yet to win a game. He has a reputation for dropping passes as well. I really don’t like this trade. I really, REALLY don’t like this trade. We don’t need this guy, he can only be a cancer on our team.

Despite Loss, Jets Still Seen As One Of Top Teams In NFL

Tuesday 6 October 2009 @ 10:21 pm

The Jets learned the hard way that having a rookie quarterback can be costly in the NFL on Sunday as they lost to the Saints. It was the first time this season that Mark Sanchez really looked like a rookie, and the Jets were exposed as being susceptible to a good blitz, but they are still recognized as one of the best teams in the NFL. ESPN has them ranked #5 in their weekly power rankings.
