The Jets will host their second home game in a row on September 27 when the Titans come to Giants Stadium. The Titans have been a team in turmoil since the beginning of last season, when their star young QB Vince Young lost his way in a game and then later lost his way in life. Right now Young is struggling just to hang on to the 3rd string QB spot and has pretty much no shot of getting snaps in the first few games this season. Maybe they’ll drop him and someone will pick him up and try to fit him in to a sort of copycat version of the Dolphins’ “Wildcat” offense from last season. Either way, Kerry Collins will likely be the one trying to navigate through the Jets defense in this game. It’ll be a great matchup of a proven veteran QB versus a rookie QB in Mark Sanchez who many believe will be the future of the NFL.

The Jets will have their first home game of the season in week 2 with a game against Tom Brady and the Patriots. Actually, I should probably just say against the Patriots, since there’s no guarantee that Tom Brady makes it to week 2. He didn’t last season. I think the Patriots are way overrated and will disappoint this season. They got a surprising performance from backup QB Matt Cassel last season, and now they’re going to be led by Tom Brady, who’s coming back from an MCL/ACL injury that few have ever come back from at 100%. He’s going to be prone to knee injuries the rest of his career, and his mobility in and out of the pocket will be severely hampered. I’d be more surprised if the Patriots win the division this year than if they go 7-9. Tickets for this game can still be found on the secondary market, with the cheapest Plaza Corner seats going for about $100. My advice: pay an extra $35 and get Plaza Sideline or Lower Endzone tickets. Your experience will be a lot better when you can actually see everything that’s going on down on the field.
