Tickets for the game against the Falcons @ less than $45/each
One of our biggest rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, will swagger into the Superdome on November 2. Look for Drew Brees and the Saints to cut through that soft butter defense and send those sissies back to “Hotlanta” with mascara running down their faces. By the way, I probably should have mentioned that this is a Monday Night Football game that will be nationally televised. The Saints will have one other MNF game at the end of November against the Patriots, but the tickets for this game against the Falcons are much cheaper and the game is more meaningful for the Saints because it’s a division opponent.

Eli Manning and the New York Giants will visit the Saints in the Superdome on October 18th. This will be the Saints second straight home game against a team from New Jersey that claims to be a team from New York. The Giants defense is expected to be one of the best in the NFL this season, and despite the fact that they had to cut Plaxico Burress after he literally shot himself in the leg (he’ll be spending this season in prison), they are still should be one of the top teams in the NFC. They are also a team that has been prone to overlooking the little guys, and this year we might just look like a little guy to them. Tickets for this game are selling for about double the price of the Jets tickets from the previous home game, which shows which team has more loyalty.

Still need tickets for this game?
The New York Jets will make a rare appearance in the Superdome on October 4. This will be the first of two non-conference games on the Saints schedule, the other one being against always-in-contention New England Patriots. The game against the Jets should prove to be the easier of the two matchups. The Jets failed to make the playoffs last year with Brett Favre at QB, and the now Favre-less Jets seem to be leaning on an unproven veteran or an unproven rookie to lead their team to success. It’ll be nice to send those New Yorkers (or New Jerseyans) home with a loss. Tickets for this game are selling for as low as $25 apiece.

Who wants tickets for this game?
I’m not going to lie to you, this game isn’t exactly a “featured matchup” on opening weekend. In fact, I bet the NFL decided to schedule the Detroit Lions to play at the Superdome on week 1 because they thought if they scheduled this game for week 15 nobody would be interested. Of course there are going to be tens of thousands of fans in the seats for this game. After all, it is opening week. I don’t have to tell anyone here that the Lions were miserable last year. Not only did they not win a game, but they looked foolish in doing so. The Saints should trounce all over them in this game, which is what a lot of fans enjoy. Frankly, I’m actually beginning to feel sorry for the Lion franchise. It’s not that they don’t deserve to fail, because they absolutely do when they draft a QB or a wide receiver in the first round every single year and never even attempt to rebuild the franchise from the ground up, but it really hurts football when one team is so bad for so long. It’s like a black hole in the schedule that only fans of the team beating the crap out of them want to watch each week. Well, week 1 is our week to host the Lions, so let’s enjoy it while it lasts. Tickets can be found for about $35 for the cheap seats.
