The hard-hitting Baltimore Ravens come to town on October 18th for a non-conference game against the Vikings. The Ravens seem to always be one of those up-and-down teams that lives and dies by its defense, but that’s beginning to change with the emergence of Joe Flacco. The former Delaware star has proven himself to be an NFL-worthy QB despite not coming from a big conference football school. He’ll have to be on his A game when he visits the Metrodome to face Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and co. As this is a non-conference game, you can find some really good deals on tickets, especially for the cheap seats. I’ve found some for under $16.

What more can be said about this game? In one of the most highly-anticipated match-ups of the season, the Green Bay Packers will come to Minnesota and face off with Brett Favre and the Vikings on October 5th. These teams are already bitter rivals, but now that the Vikings have Favre it’s added a new twist to this game. To make things even better, this is a Monday Night Football game that will be nationally televised. It’s almost as if the NFL knew the Vikings would be acquiring Favre all along… hmmm. To state the obvious, this game is sold out, but there are plenty of tickets available from resellers. Prices are going to be much higher than other Vikings home games this season, but other Vikings home games won’t feature this kind of rivalry.

The Vikings will start the home version of their schedule in week 3 with a game against the San Francisco 49ers. This could end up being a pretty important game and should not be overlooked just because the Packers are coming to town the following week. Brett Favre and company know that the 49ers have been a poor club for about a decade and a half, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have to play the game, and these are the types of wins you really need to stack up in order to end up with a playoff-worthy record at the end of the season. Tickets for this game are selling on the light side at under $25 apiece for the cheap seats (from resellers). Better seats are obviously considerably more expensive.
