The Evil Dead DVD Review

There are so many things to love about The Evil Dead. It was a film made by some unknowns with very little money, and yet it remains a cult classic. Contrast this with The Blair Witch Project, which was also made with unknowns with no money, but is largely forgotten. The Evil Dead is not a movie based on hype. The talents may not have been recognizable when it was originally released, but they are now. People were so impressed by Sam Raimi's directorial work that they now let him make huge "sure thing" blockbusters. The special edition version of The Evil Dead was released in 2002 and it is called The Book of the Dead Limited Edition. You'll be lucky if you can find one of these on Ebay. Like I said, this is a cult classic, with many rabid fans.

The Evil Dead
Look at these incredible prices on The Evil Dead DVDs. What's that? You're not an Ebay member! Perhaps it's time to crawl out of that cave and into the 21st century. Register as an Ebay member now. Of course it's free! It boggles my mind when I see people pay retail for items they can get on Ebay for 80% less.

The packaging is by far the coolest I've ever seen for a DVD release. It is made to look just like the talking Book of the Dead from the movie. Extras include commentary tracks, promotional material, outtakes, and various other stuff that I know fans of The Evil Dead will eat right up. If you're a fan of low-budget horror, and I know many of you are, this DVD is a must.
