Star Wars : Episode I - The Phantom Menace DVD Review

After 16 years, Star Wars fans finally got a new Star Wars movie out of George Lucas. While the first 3 movies (episodes 4-6) were packed with adventure and were cult classics (and that's a pretty big cult) the newer movies have been bogged down with the introduction of new characters and minute details that nobody really cared about (ok, some people care about them, but I'm talking about general audiences). Even bonafide Star Wars fans were disappointed by much of Episode I, but the DVD release was something all fans could be proud of. The 2-disc set (note, there is no special edition version) makes up for a movie that was not so good. You can skip right past the annoying scenes with Jar Jar Binks and move right to the pod race or the final battle, both of which lived up to the Star Wars name.

Star Wars : Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Look at these incredible prices on Star Wars : Episode I - The Phantom Menace DVDs. What's that? You're not an Ebay member! Perhaps it's time to crawl out of that cave and into the 21st century. Register as an Ebay member now. Of course it's free! It boggles my mind when I see people pay retail for items they can get on Ebay for 80% less.

Extras include a making-of documentary and commentary from George Lucas and others, including legendary film maker Francis Ford Coppola (perhaps he should have been more involved in production, Lucas could learn a thing or two from him). Overall you get a nice package for a regular DVD release at a low price.
