Close Encounters of the Third Kind DVD Review

It's hard to believe, watching this 2-disc Collector's Edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, that this movie was released in theaters in 1977. It has been nearly 30 years since this Steven Spielberg masterpiece wowed us with computer graphics never before used in films. There have been so many versions that it has been easy to forget what the original experience was like. The TV and video tape versions were both a little different from the original and each other, and the laserdisc version also had some changes. This DVD has the movie that Spielberg has wanted us to see for 30 years. The video looks better than ever, and the sound, which was so important for this movie in particular, is high quality. There are also options for different sound quality that will help you if you do not happen to own the newest audio equipment.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Look at these incredible prices on Close Encounters of the Third Kind DVDs. What's that? You're not an Ebay member! Perhaps it's time to crawl out of that cave and into the 21st century. Register as an Ebay member now. Of course it's free! It boggles my mind when I see people pay retail for items they can get on Ebay for 80% less.

There are lots of bonus materials in this two-disc set, but still no commentary track from the legendary film maker. When you purchase this make sure you get the Two-Disc Collector's Edition, as the Collector's Edition has also been released on a single DVD (obviously, that version does not have as many bonus materials).
