Blade 2 DVD Review

Blade 2, or Blade II, as some uncool movie producers like to put it, was really just another mindless action flick starring Wesley Snipes. I wouldn't expect an less (or more) from him. That said, it is a good movie to just sit down and zone out to. The premier DVD release for this film is the New Line Platinum Edition. Once again, New Line does not disappoint. This is one impressive DVD. The sound and video quality are excellent, although there is one action scene during the movie that bugs me. At one point there is a fight scene that was clearly done made with CGI. I know, lots of action sequences use CGI because real people are not capable of flying and doing triple backwards flips in the air. But this scene was so obvious it made me cringe. I think they need to upgrade computers, because that scene looked like it was made with an Atari. Anyway, that's the fault of the production team, not the DVD. The budget for this film was not as great as most people would assume. Just don't look for this to win any awards for its use of higher technology.

Blade 2
Look at these incredible prices on Blade 2 DVDs. What's that? You're not an Ebay member! Perhaps it's time to crawl out of that cave and into the 21st century. Register as an Ebay member now. Of course it's free! It boggles my mind when I see people pay retail for items they can get on Ebay for 80% less.

This special edition DVD gives you a look at how they made those "great" action scenes. You'll see the production team playing hours and hours of Atari trying to get the look just right. Just kidding. The extras are impressive, and if you like this movie in theaters you owe it to yourself to check out the DVD.
