Almost Famous DVD Review

The Untitled: Bootleg Cut (Director's Edition) of Almost Famous is a very impressive DVD package. For those not familiar with the film, it is one of the premier films about the 1970's and classic rock music. This version is a full 30 minutes longer than the theatrical release, but if you liked the original that version is also included in the package. How many special edition DVDs can say that? Not many, that's for sure. Almost Famous follows the life of a boy who is inspired by rock music and wants to become a writer. He manages to trick Rolling Stone into hiring him and he sets out to write a possible cover feature on the fictional band Stillwater. Although Stillwater may not be real, the other bands heard and mentioned in the film are, including Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. This movie got a decent amount of media attention, but less than it deserved. Overlooked as it may be, it will be remembered as a classic ode to the 1970s and classic rock decades down the road.

Almost Famous
Look at these incredible prices on Almost Famous DVDs. What's that? You're not an Ebay member! Perhaps it's time to crawl out of that cave and into the 21st century. Register as an Ebay member now. Of course it's free! It boggles my mind when I see people pay retail for items they can get on Ebay for 80% less.

Like I mentioned before, this edition comes with two versions of the film, but of course it does not stop there. You get a 6-song CD by Stillwater (the fictional band) and lots of behind-the-scenes stuff that diehard fans will really love.
