Lions vs. Bears Tickets – 1/3/10 – Final Home Game!

Tuesday 20 October 2009 @ 3:26 pm

See what seats you can still buy for this game

Two of the NFL’s most storied teams will square off as the Bears play the Lions on January 3 in the final week of the regular season. Depending on their records, this could be the final chance for Bears and Lions fans to see their teams this season. Tickets for this game are selling at about the normal rate on the secondary market, which is something I wouldn’t expect from a final Lions home game after the season they had last year. There is this underlying optimism from Lions fans that tells me they really are confident we’ll still be in the hunt in January. Of course, it could also be those rabid Bears fans buying up tickets. Either way, it’s good for Detroit’s economy.

Much Improved Lions Are Only The 7th Worst Team In Football

Wednesday 14 October 2009 @ 4:19 pm

ESPN’s power rankings are out, and the Lions are ranked #26 out of 32 football teams. That’s a 1 spot improvement over last week despite a loss. It’s clear the Lions are a much better team this season than they were last year, and it shouldn’t surprise anyone when they come away with 4 or 5 wins this year. I see several teams ranked better than the Lions who are not nearly as good this year. The Bills, at #25, would lose to the Lions. I guarantee that. The Lions won’t be playoff contenders this season, but they also won’t be contending for one of the top 5 draft picks next year. There are so many terrible teams in football, the Lions are actually in a class above the bottom dwellers.
