The Lions game against the Redskins this weekend will not be shown on many local TV stations as the NFL has implemented its blackout rule because the team failed to sellout the game. Over 10,000 tickets remain unsold. The Lions 19 game losing streak is the second longest in NFL history, although I know at least one analyst is picking them to break that streak this week. I don’t see why not, they’d played well for about a half last week against the Vikings, and the Vikings are a much better team than the Redskins. At the very least, we won’t have to stop Adrian Peterson this week.
I thought this was our week. We even jumped out to a quick lead over the Vikings. In the end, it’s just one more week of misery for us Lions fans. Oh well, here’s a video of some drunk women who were at the game and had to be escorted out by police. This was the best action I saw all day.
I’ve got to make one shocking upset pick every week, and I figured the Lions are about due for one. The Lions take on the division rival Minnesota Vikings this week, and I think they will shock the NFL world with an upset victory. There are a few reasons why I think this scenario will happen: the Lions are at home, where they did as well last season as they did on the road (hardy har har), Brett Favre is overrated and so are the Vikings, and the Vikings defense looked terrible in week 1. This game will be close, but for once it will be the Lions that find a way to win in the last minutes. It will be the Lions first regular season win since 2007.

The defending NFC champion Arizona Cardinals will come to Detroit to play the Lions on 12/20. Some might argue that it’s unfair for the first winless team in 30 years to have to play both teams that played in the Super Bowl the previous year in the same season, but I would counter that the Cardinals were a fluke. That’s right, I said it. The Cardinals were a fluke, and they’ll be lucky if they’re still in the playoff hunt by the time this game rolls around. Even if they are, they’ll probably still lose to the Lions and everyone will wonder “what happened to the Cardinals this season?”. Well I’ve got your answer, Billy Boy. Nothing happened to the Cardinals this season. They were a mediocre team that got lucky at the right time last season, and they’ll be a mediocre team that got unlucky this season. End of story.
