Sports Illustrated’s first mock draft of the new year has the Broncos taking Rey Maualuga with their first pick (12th overall) in the first round. Maualuga is an inside linebacker from USC who packs a mighty wallop into his hits. Maualuga would likely end up being a key player in Mike Nolan’s new 3-4 defense.  Here’s a highlight film of some of his biggest hits in college:

The Broncos have whittled down the number of candidates for their head coaching position to 7, the team announced yesterday. The Broncos have not had to interview a new head coach for many years, so the whole process might be a little new to most of the guys in the front office.
