In my mind, the modern movie car chase is defined by this scene from Ronin. In features some of the best stunt driving ever seen in a movie, and very limited special effects. It just feels more real than a crappy computer-generated scene from say, Gone in Sixty Seconds (the Nicholas Cage version). Anyway, this is Ronin:
