Bills Hire Chan Gailey

The Bills have found their head coach after being rejected by just about every former coach in the country. Gailey used to coach the Dallas Cowboys a decade ago, but the Bills found him living in a dumpster behind Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. As part of his contract agreement, Gailey will be given daily bread and milk and will have access to one of Buffalo’s finest burn barrels.

Bills vs. New England Patriots Tickets

The Bills will return to Ralph Wilson Stadium for the first time since November 29 to play a critical game against the New England Patriots. Tickets for this game have been hot on the resale market dating all the way back to last June. You can still find some decent seats out there for under $100. This will be the Bills final home game against an AFC East team.

Bills Fire Dick Jauron

The Bills have finally fired head coach Dick Jauron. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will take over as interim head coach. Judging by Sunday’s game, the Bills defense could use a conditioning coach. No team in football falls apart in the 4th quarter quite like the Bills. This has been one miserable season, and there are still 7 games left.

Bills Are Huge Underdogs Against The Titans

How bad are things for the Bills? Well, they’re almost 3 to 1 underdogs against a team that is 2 – 6 on the season. That bad. Trent Edwards will be back as QB this week, and it looks like T.O. might miss the game with an unspecified hip injury; I’m guessing somewhere in that cave located in his “inner hip” region. This is about as bad as it gets for Buffalo, which is used to winning at least (and at most) 7 games every season. It looks like we’re going to fall short of that mark this year, which should give us a great draft position to draft someone we don’t need.

The Bills will play their second straight home game against a division rival on December 3, but this will be their one game during the regular season that’s played at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Like last year, tickets for this game sold quickly and are being resold at about double the normal resale price on Bills tickets. As much as I hope Toronto fans embrace the Bills and become a part of their market, I really hope this isn’t an indicator that the Bills will be making the move to Toronto. Either way, let’s crush the Jets!

The Bills will finally return home to Ralph Wilson Stadium at the end of the month with a big game against the division rival Miami Dolphins on November 29. There’s plenty of interest in this game, but you can still find thousands of tickets being resold online for $40 – $1200. I’ve found many really good seats for relatively low prices.

Bills Pull Upset Of The Week Against The Jets

The Bills weren’t supposed to win this game. They were playing on the Jets home turf. They hadn’t won a game in their division since 2007. Their quarterback left the game with a concussion in the first half. They gave up over 300 yards rushing. Despite all of this, the Bills pulled off a huge upset over the New York Jets on Sunday, winning 16-13 in overtime.

Harvard graduate Ryan Fitzpatrick led the way for the Bills in the second half, and the Bills secondary made up for their lousy defensive line by picking off Mark Sanchez 5 times in the game, perhaps proving that Sanchez is not a cold-weather quarterback and foreshadowing a rough second half of the season for the Jets as we move towards winter.

The Bills are now 2-4 and seemingly outside the playoff chase, but things are looking up. I like the way the offense moved the ball around with Trent Edwards out of the game. By the way, look for the Jets’ Calvin Pace to get fined for the hit that gave Edwards the concussion. Although the refs were very late in blowing a whistle, Pace should have been penalized for grabbing Edwards’ helmet and twisting it as he drove him to the ground. Both of Edwards’ knees were on the ground before Pace made contact with him.

Fitzpatrick looked a little green, but he also showed a willingness to spread the field by using 2 of the best deep threats in the league, Lee Evans and Terrell Owens. This is something Edwards has been hesitant to do all season, instead preferring dump passes to the sides that usually go for less than 5 yards.

Our special teams made some awful mistakes once again on Sunday, but a miracle field goal in overtime probably means special teams coach Bobby April will have at least one more week to whip his crew into shape. Dick Jauron is probably looking at the same scenario. I’m frankly surprised either one of them still had a job on Sunday after the performance last week against the Browns. Now they can both keep their jobs if they can keep the Bills playing like the team that beat the Jets and the Buccaneers and nearly beat the Patriots, as opposed to the team that got blown out by the Dolphins and lost to a terrible Browns club.

The Bills Might Be The Worst Team In Football

I can’t take this anymore. Yesterday’s 6-3 loss to the previously winless Cleveland Browns was the last straw. Everything about this Bills team is anemic. They are weak. I think there’s a real chance we could be looking at the #1 pick in the draft next season. I know, there are still winless teams out there, including the Rams and Tampa Bay. Hey, we even beat Tampa Bay last month (in Buffalo), but as time goes on in this season I think we’ll see that the Bills aren’t even close to competitive with most other teams in the NFL. Get used to 30 point losses.

Here’s my not-so-bold prediction for this week: Dick Jauron will not be our head coach next Sunday. This is the perfect time to fire him. I’m not sure who we can get to replace him, but right now I’m wondering if Buddy Ryan has any more kids who might be interested.
