Chief Justice Fumbles Oath, Fox News Wonders Whether Obama is Officially President

Chief Justice John Roberts had one job to do today, and he blew it. He fumbled through administering the oath of office, even interrupting the new president as he attempted to say his name (apparently “I, Barack…” is good enough for Mr. Roberts). President Obama, who no doubt had practiced and memorized his lines dozens of times, had to pause to figure out which part of the oath he was supposed to be saying, as opposed to just reciting back the incorrectly parsed lines that Roberts was giving him.

Later in the day, Fox News hack Chris Wallace questioned whether Obama really was president due to the not 100% accurate oath. It didn’t matter, because according to law Obama became president at 12:00pm today whether he completed the oath or not. The oath of office is 100% ceremonial and therefore we can stop the conspiracy theories right now.
