Salvador Dali
| Biography |
| Salvador
Dali was born in Spain in 1904. He is best known for his surrealist
works. His paintings were often dream-like, with images such as
a rose floating in the sky, an elephant with giraffe-like legs,
and clocks melting like ice cream on a warm day. Much of his work
was symbolic. In his later years he was recognizable by his flamboyant
demeanor and moustache. He died in 1989. |

| Many people enjoy meditating while
viewing Salvador Dali's artwork, much as they would while staring
at a lava lamp. A fundamental requirement for college entrance
is ownership of at least two Dali posters. Some students have
wallpapers entire dorm rooms with Dali art prints and giant posters. |
